As we wrap up 2010 and look towards the pi-New Haven events for 2011, we need to pause and once again thank our feature poets for joining us and sharing their work.
Hosts Alice-Anne, Mark and I work to create a welcoming environment for our participants and the interaction with our features adds to each readings’ overall experience.
2010 boasted some impressive poet bios.
We are grateful for the participation and support each of our features continues to show pi-New Haven through their ongoing support.

2010 pi-New Haven Features
Elizabeth Marie Young. What a way to start our year. Elizabeth expanded our universe. Her book “Aim Straight at the Fountain and Press Vaporize” is winner of the 2009 Motherwell Prize and is available here.
Leslie McGrath. Her book “Opulent Hunger, Opulent Rage” is the winner of the Main Street Rag Poetry Book Award and after her beautiful reading we all know why. This is one book every poet needs to have in their collection!
Gardner McFall. Our audience is still talking about Gardner’s reading. We can’t recommend her enough to other venues. Author of The Pilot’s Daughter and The Russian Tortoise, as well as a libretto, this is a poet who connected with our audience in an unforgettable way. Thank you Gardner!
Reggie Marra. In one word: Integral. Reggie took us on a journey that the community can continue to enjoy via his blog and workshops. A fun evening!
John Surowiecki. Author of numerous poetry collections you can order his latest, “Barney and Gienka” from his website.
Marianela Medrano. We enjoyed Marianela’s poetry twice. In both Spanish and English.
Sandra Bishop Ebner. Her book “The Space Between” resonates strength and longing and it’s available on Amazon.
Ralph Nazareth. More than a poet, Ralph is prominent voice in Connecticut poetry. His book “Ferrying Secrets” is available from Yugandi Publishers.
Bessy Reyna. We were the last stop on Bessy’s 2010 tour. An outstanding night with an amazing poet. Check out her newest collection “Memoirs of an Unfaithful Lover”, available from her website.
Charles Douthat. His first collection, “Blue for Oceans”, published by The New Haven Review Press, is remarkable. Thank you Charles for sharing your beautiful reading with all of us; we look forward to your next.
Again, our heartfelt thanks to all of our feature poets who each shared their poetry and personal experiences with our audience.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on our January 2011 reading and our 2011 lineup.
